“Traditional Style” Lead Sleds!

Issue #32 is LOADED with eye candy! Our cover car this issue is the
wild and radical ’51 Ford Victoria owned by Bob Politz of New
Jersey. Bob’s custom has got to be the quintessential early ’60s
show car with its canted quad headlights and wild scallop paint job.
This car is a true-to-era specimen and represents the radical end of
the spectrum in custom cars. At the opposite end of that spectrum is
a Westergard-influenced ’35 Ford Roadster built in true early to
mid-forties fashion. We have a nice mild early 1960s style street
custom in the form of a 1959 Chevy El Camino, and a genuine Joe
Bailon-built ’51 Mercury. (Joe is often regarded as the originator
of Candy Apple paint and one of the legends of customizing.) Rik
Hoving brings us Part 5 of the Larry Watson Personal Photo series,
this time featuring some of the nicer Fords that Larry painted in
his career. We have an exclusive story on the famous 1940 Ford “Les
Po Po” with many never before seen photographs of this incredible
radical coupe. Our show coverage this issue includes a brand new
custom event out of the mid-west called “Three Geezers Custom Car
Show”, and one of the oldest and longest running events in America:
The Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California. Issue #32 is
another jamb-packed full-color issue you’ve come to know and love!
